An accident concerning a yacht hitting a bridge in Miami reveals a mystery, when it's discovered the man at the helm was shot moments before the boat slammed into the bridge. An investigation uncovers a kidnapping and ransom plot involving the victim's son and in fact the dead man was on his way to pay off the kidnappers with 3 million dollars worth of jewels. Details are uncovered that the jewels were fake and that the team may be in danger, or even killed.

A woman is killed during a party at a Star Island estate when a man opens fire on the proceedings from a cigarette boat. When a former con is arrested, he acts as his own lawyer and proves to be smarter than he appears. Complicating matters is the fact that the leading witness in the case is the dead woman's young son, who Horatio wants to protect, refusing to let him testify.

The bathroom of a popular Miami nightclub is the scene of a murdered 18-year old female. She was working undercover of underage drinking for the Alcohol Beverage Control. A man crashes his car while speeding away, having noticed the police were investigating the club. Inside the crashed vehicle was another murder victim. The DNA collected from the second victim helps lead the team to a spa conducting questionable practices.

A famed baseball player is arrested for the brutal murder of his wife. When the jury and defense team make a visit to the crime scene, the room is set exactly as it had been the night of the murder. When the dimmed lights are brightened, the baseball star is found to be killed too, with a meat cleaver stuck in his back and the word Guilty written on a note. Horatio believes the defense has messed with the crime scene, making the evidence much harder to gather. Meanwhile, Yelina calls Horatio to inform him that her son, Ray Jr., is missing.

The city of Miami has just 10 hours to evacuate as a Tsunami is headed towards them. Among the havoc, a pair of residents are found dead in the parking lot of a bank. Evidence leads to a plot to rob the bank while the chaos ensues. A body which washes up from a cemetery may lead a new cause of death than originally reported. A new lead has Horatio searching for two suspects after discovering that the victim had witnessed an assault outside of the Miami Heat basketball arena.

A crew of six members, tied together and drowned in the ocean lead the CSI to a case of modern day piracy. The investigation uncovers a hijacked ship with more dead crew members thrown overboard, while the remaining crew having escaped on a life raft. With the help of a GPS and radar system the survivors are found and questioned, but their stories don't mesh. Further investigation sends the team into the underbelly of Miami's militia and arms dealers.

The man who fell from the roof had a sex DVD in his possession which stared a woman with a sordid past and a top Miami criminal judge. A collection of evidence leads them to a teenage girl who not only had been with the victim before the murder, but may also have had a relationship with the killer.

There is an swelled amount of visitors since it is the heart of cruise season in Miami, creating a larger than normal group of suspects. Calleigh investigates a woman's disappearance after her husband spends the night at a friction party.

A dead woman found swallowed up inside a snake leads the CSI to a drug smuggling operation. It is believed the snakes are used to smuggle the drugs inside of them, avoiding detection by customs. Horatio discovers his nemesis, Clavo Cruz is behind the drug smuggling racket and is determined to prove it. Meanwhile, Wolfe leads an investigation of a pair of women, both claiming that each other is part of an identity theft scandal against them.

CSI believes a fire in the Everglades was intentionally set to destroy evidence for a murder. Making things worse, a serial killer escapes from the prison crew brought in to help fight the fire. During the investigation the body of a college student is found, with no usable evidence remaining. His death is believed to be linked with a moonshine business discovered near the scene of the blaze.

The team finds that while he was murdered he was wearing sensors that recorded the murder. The CSIa 's must investigate the video game programmers and other tester to locate the killer.

When an IRS investigator is murdered after he tries to retrieve a taxpayera 's yacht for taxes that are owed, the CSIa 's find that a second IRS investigator is found shot as well. Upon investigating the two murders, Horatio finds that everyone dislikes the IRS on the day before tax day.

Delko must locate his badge, which was used during a crime and before it is used again. Delko has to admit that he lost it during an irresponsible act the night before.
